Dr Cameron identified the unmet clinical need for this project during his time as a Fellow in the BioInnovate Ireland programme. In 2020, he was awarded the JCI Galway Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award for Medical Device Innovation. He has a PhD in Tissue Engineering and has acted as the commercial lead on multiple projects at the University of Galway and the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. He continues to draw on his experience as a research engineer (with BEng Double Majoring in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a PhD in Tissue Engineering) and his qualifications in research commercialisation.
