Associate Professor Michelle Barakat-Johnson PhD, MN, BN, RN
Michelle is the Executive Skin Integrity Lead for Sydney Local Health District, an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney and Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield, UK.

Michelle specialises in skin integrity, implementation science and pressure injury prevention and is the founder of the first Wound Command Centre in Australia which harnesses a digital application for wounds. She is currently the lead investigator of several funded studies across NSW improving outcomes for people with wounds. Michelle was awarded the Rita and Cornforth Medal for Research Excellence at the University of Sydney and the National Research Sax Award and the EPUAP investigator award 2023 for her research into wounds and pressure injuries.
