Megan Leary

Megan Leary has been a Registered Nurse with Central Coast Local Health District since she graduated from her Bachelor degree in 2001. Megan spent her early career as a surgical nurse but her passion for wounds led her to pursue her career in Community Nursing with CCLHD. From 2003 until 2022 Megan worked in various roles and focused her education on all things wound related. Megan was proud to be part of Dr Anne Purcell’s (Nurse Practitioner Wounds) research pilot study into the effectiveness of EMLA as a primary dressing on painful chronic leg ulcers which was published in 2017 in the journal Advances in Skin & WoundCare. After completing a Graduate Certificate in 2022 an opportunity presented itself in 2023 to relieve as the Wound CNC in the acute care setting. Megan is now permanently in the role as the CNC for Wounds and Surgical Services for Gosford and Wyong hospitals.
