Kathren Puyk is a Wound Clinical Nurse Consultant and Executive Office for Pressure Injury Prevention at Alfred Health, Victoria, Australia. She has worked in areas of wound management and education for over 30 years including Plastics, Burns, Trauma, Colorectal and Vascular. She has completed her Master of Nursing – Wound Management and has been involved in developing and coordinating postgraduate wound education with LaTrobe University for over 10 years and has coordinated and educated in the World of Wounds, LaTrobe University and Wounds World.
She has travelled with Interplast with a Plastics Reconstructive team to Myanmar where she was involved in supporting education and post-operative patient care.
Current member of Wounds Australia; Plastics Reconstructive Conference Planning Co Coordinator 2019 and was on the Skin and Soft Tissue Working Group for the International Pressure Injury Guideline which were launched in 2019.
