Kerrie is a Nurse Practitioner in wound management and was instrumental in setting up the Skin Integrity Service at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Kerrie has approximately 35 years of experience in wound management and over 40 years of experience in nursing. She has worked primarily in tertiary hospitals in NSW and QLD previously has managed outpatient wound clinics and provided inpatient consultations for the Metro North Health Service District and across Queensland. Currently is the founder of All Wrapped Up Nursing consultative service and does some backfilling for Metro North. Kerrie has been a guest lecturer for various universities on wound care as well as providing continuing education programs in a variety of settings. In 2012 and 2016 Kerrie was awarded the Ian McFarlane Award for nursing excellence in clinical education and clinical practice. She has been involved in research projects involving pressure injuries, lower leg ulcers, and novel wound treatments. Her research has covered lower leg compression heat Intimacy and living with a chronic wound.
