Prof. Fiona Coyer

Professor Fiona Coyer is Head of Discipline – Nursing, School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. Fiona has extensive experience as a leader in academic and research programs. As Head of Discipline, Fiona oversees the nursing academic team and programs, ensuring the highest standards of nursing education, and fostering research and innovation in the field. She has developed a program of research focused on evidence-based approaches to nursing care and management of the skin integrity in the critically ill patient in intensive care. She is currently leading a large project with national funding, to reduce skin injuries from devices in critically ill patients of all ages. Fiona has published over 190 peer-reviewed journal articles and serves on the editorial board of four international journals. She has supervised 23 higher degree research students to completion.
