Prof. Dr. Dimitri Beeckman

Professor Dimitri Beeckman is an internationally recognised expert in skin integrity, wound care, and pressure injury prevention. He is Professor of Nursing Science at Örebro University (Sweden) and Ghent University (Belgium), and serves as Pro Vice-Chancellor at Örebro University, where he leads the university’s international strategy. He chairs the Steering Committee of the NEOLAiA European University Alliance. Prof. Beeckman is affiliated with the Swedish Centre for Skin and Wound Research (SCENTR) and the Skin Integrity Research Group (SKINT) at Ghent University. He is President of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA) and Past President of the European Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (EPUAP) and the International Skin Tear Advisory Panel (ISTAP). He has authored and co-authored numerous scientific publications, clinical guidelines, and educational resources, and is a frequent international keynote speaker committed to translating evidence into practice.
