Alison is a Registered Nurse with over 25-years of experience in
community nursing. For the last 15 years, she has dedicated herself to
wound specific care, focusing on chronic complex wounds and wound
biofilm management.
Alison has a post-graduate diploma in wound management, certificates in
wound debridement techniques and she is a credentialed wound clinician as
of 2019. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy in community nursing
and wound care at the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2021. Her
research in wound biofilms and the use of novel therapies, such as
ultrasonic debridement and topical antiseptics have been presented at
academic and practice-focused conferences nationally and internationally.
Her work has been published in peer-reviewed publications. She lives on
the Sunshine Coast and runs a private practice as part of a
transdisciplinary team. Helping those with wounds or those caring for wounds in
her community is her mission in life.
