Angela Boahen is a PhD in Medicine student at the University of Adelaide, with research focused on antimicrobial resistance, biofilm-associated infections, and the development of innovative non-antibiotic therapies for chronic and difficult-to-treat infections. Her work spans from fundamental microbiology through to translational and preclinical research, with a particular emphasis on diabetes-related foot disease, immunomodulation, and wound healing outcomes. She has extensive experience designing and conducting in vitro and in vivo infection models to study host–pathogen interactions, biofilm behaviour, and antimicrobial efficacy. She has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed international publications and presented her work at national and international conferences. Angela is experienced in multidisciplinary collaboration, contributing to experimental design, data analysis, and scientific communication, and is strongly motivated by translational research that bridges laboratory discoveries with clinically relevant solutions.
