Dr Zahra Lotfollahi is a postdoctoral researcher with the Central Adelaide Local Health Network, podiatrist and teaching associate. Dr Lotfollahi is an early-career clinician–scientist specialising in diabetes-related foot ulcer (DFU) and wound healing research. She completed her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the University of Western Australia (2016) and her PhD at the University of Adelaide (2023). Her work focuses on understanding the biological mechanisms that impair wound healing and on the development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for chronic wounds. As an early career scientist, Dr Lotfollahi has demonstrated excellence in the field of DFUs and diabetes by publishing five first-author papers in internationally recognised journals and regular attendance at major scientific meetings.
