Sophie Lyons is a Wound Care Clinical Nurse Specialist at Epworth Richmond with a strong foundation in Intensive Care, where she spent seven years and earned her Postgraduate Certificate in Intensive Care Nursing through Deakin University in 2020. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, she has led multiple wound-based quality improvement initiatives improving the patient experience and quality of wound care they received. Since joining the Wound Nursing team in early 2024, Sophie has driven interhospital education events, advanced wound data collection, and delivered regular in-services across the 600-bed facility. Passionate about evidence-based practice, she earned 2nd place at the 2024 Australia and New Zealand Skin Integrity Forum for her work on Incontinence Associated Dermatitis, and won 1st place for her global presentation on Hidradenitis Suppurativa at the 2025 European Wound Management Association Atypical Wounds workshop in Barcelona. Sophie is committed to advancing wound care and education, and to sharing her passion for wound management with both patients and fellow healthcare professionals.
