Melissa Cooney is the Advanced Lead Clinician Orthopaedic Podiatrist at SALHN, where she enhances patient access and reduces elective surgery wait times by supporting the Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic team. With extensive experience in both public and private sectors, Melissa expertly manages a wide range of orthopaedic foot and lower limb conditions, including diabetic and vascular complications.
She is skilled in developing evidence-based care plans, clinical service coordination, education, and team leadership. Melissa also holds extended scope credentialling within SALHN to perform Minimally Invasive Flexor Tendon Release under local anaesthetic. Committed to quality and collaboration, she actively contributes to research and service improvement in orthopaedic podiatry.
