Sarah Schnaak is a Research Assistant at the Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane, Qld, specialising in pressure injury (PI) research. With a background in Nursing, her work focuses on pressure injury prevention and risk assessment in an acute hospital. She is proficient in skin assessment, pressure injury prevention and best practice.
Currently, Sarah supports projects investigating risk assessment tools, characteristics of PI in patients undergoing cardiac surgery and the perspective of patients with severe PIs. Research tasks include patient recruitment, facilitation of informed consent, data collection and management and systematic reviews. Sarah is dedicated to translating research findings into evidence-based practice to enhance the quality of life for vulnerable patient populations, adhering to the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
