Hermione Shea

Hermione Shea is a Lecturer in the Master of Wound Care at Monash University, where her particular interests include digital innovation in curriculum delivery and building supportive online learning communities that strengthen connection and belonging for postgraduate students. She is also a Wound Clinical Nurse Consultant at Bayside Health (Alfred Care Group), providing specialist wound consultation across acute, subacute and ambulatory services. Hermione’s teaching and clinical practice focus on holistic wound assessment and management, pressure injury prevention, and culturally responsive care for diverse populations. She holds professional leadership roles including Education Liaison for the Wounds Australia Victoria Branch Committee, and contributes to pressure injury and wound care networks, guideline development, and quality improvement initiatives. Hermione is currently undertaking a PhD focused on improving diagnostic accuracy for oral mucosal ulcerations in critically ill, intubated patients, with particular emphasis on differentiating mucosal pressure injuries from herpetic lesions.
