Kirsi Isoherranen is a Finnish physician and specialist in dermatology and allergology. She serves as Head Physician of the Helsinki Wound Healing Centre at Helsinki University Hospital, where she works in a multidisciplinary team focused on improving diagnosis and treatment of complex wounds.
Isoherranen earned her medical degree (MD) in 1997 and a PhD in 1998 from the University of Turku. She later specialized in dermatology and allergology at University of Helsinki and obtained special competence in wound management from the Finnish Medical Society in 2016.
In addition to her clinical work, she is active in academic research and medical education. Isoherranen holds the title of Adjunct Professor at the University of Helsinki and has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters related to wound healing, diagnostics, and dermatosurgery.
She served as the President of European Wound Management from 2023 to 2025 and is currently the Immediate Past President of EWMA.
