Robyn Rayner is a Wounds Australia Board Director and an experienced wound care clinician with more than 25 years delivering evidence‑based practice through Silverchain. She holds a PhD and a Master of Wound Care and is a sessional tutor at Monash University. Her doctoral research, titled “Skin Tear Prediction in the Elderly”, used non‑invasive technologies to examine ageing skin characteristics and developed a predictive model with strong sensitivity and specificity for identifying skin tear risk in aged‑care residents. Her work has contributed to the external validation of a skin tear prediction model and validation of the STAR Skin Tear Classification.
Robyn has contributed to the development of the International Pressure Injury Guidelines and has been recognised with the WA Nursing & Midwifery Excellence Award in Rural and Remote Nursing (2025). She has 23 peer‑reviewed publications, multiple literary awards, and serves on the Editorial Board of Wound Practice and Research.
