Daphne Weihs

A/Professor Daphne Weihs is a Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Technion since 2006. She obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering, Technion (2004) and was a postdoctoral researcher at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) 2004-2006.

Her research focuses on mechanobiology, particularly wound prevention and healing, skin mechanics, and cancer progression. Prof. Weihs has published more than 65 peer-reviewed articles and numerous book chapters and conference papers. She has held leadership roles in professional societies, serves on international scientific and grant review panels, and is an editorial board member for several leading journals. She is visiting scientist at KU Leuven, Gent, and Hasselt universities in Belgium.
