Melissa Alexander is an advanced practice paramedic, educator, healthcare leader with over 23 years of experience in Intensive Care, extended care, community paramedicine, and healthcare education. Melissa holds a Master of Advanced Clinical Practice and a Graduate Certificate in Health and Medical Research from Deakin University, alongside qualifications in nursing, Intensive Care paramedicine, and extended care paramedicine.
She serves with the South Australian Ambulance Service and Flinders University, where she combines frontline clinical practice with curriculum development, teaching, and professional mentoring. A Fellow of both the Australasian College of Paramedicine and the Australian College of Paramedic Practitioners, Melissa is a recognised advocate for innovative models of care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the advancement of paramedic practice across Australia and internationally.
