Compression Pump Cases From The Field

Join us for an engaging session led by Rebecca Aburn and assisted by Jen Sanderson, who will share with you how compression pumps have become a regular part of their treatment regime in managing oedema in a variety of conditions such as: 

  • Lymphoedema 
  • CVI and Mixed vessel disease 
  • Amputation 
  • and Post-op management of femoral popliteal bypass  

Rebecca has also successfully applied and been granted funding for setting up loan pools of compression pumps to be used in the community. There will be opportunity for Q and A at the end. 

Learning outcomes

Key learning objectives to be achieved within this seminar are:-

  • Learn about Sequential Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (SIPC) from the basic device features, indications, contraindications to treatment parameters.
  • Understand the clinical rationale of SIPC in treating the conditions listed above.
  • Learn about assessment for determining clinical effect of SIPC and clinical reasoning for setting and progression of treatment parameters.
  • Understand how compression pumps were used in specific case studies to reduce oedema and heal wounds.
  • Feel confident in the practical application of SIPC in context of your overall treatment management (compression garments, bandaging and wraps)
