Innovations in Wound Reconstruction – A new era in NPWT with V.A.C.® Peel and Place – local experience and learnings

Synopsis

Join us for a breakfast seminar with Dr Justine O’Hara and Miranda Pye, exploring wound reconstruction and the role of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) across the patient journeDrawing on her extensive surgical experience, Dr O’Hara will share her contemporary perspectives on wound reconstruction, including strategies to optimise the wound environment, considerations for adjunctive therapies and key factors that influence reconstructive outcomes.

Miranda Pye, Nurse Practitioner in Wounds and Burns, will provide real-world insights from hospital, outpatient and telehealth settings, highlighting the importance of continuity of care. She will also share her experience using V.A.C.® Peel and Place Dressing, designed to streamline V.A.C.® Therapy delivery from hospital to home.

Together, they will discuss the clinical rationale behind the dressing’s design and how it may support consistency of application, reduce variability, and maintain effective therapy across care settings.

The seminar will conclude with “what I wish I knew earlier” learnings — including patient and wound selection, dressing choice, and integration across theatre, outpatient and home care workflows.

This is a valuable opportunity to gain practical, multidisciplinary insights that can support better patient outcomes across the reconstructive journey.
